Nanomaterials at the workplace

The chemical industry has worked together with a number of leading German institutions focusing on occupational health and safety to draw up the strategic paper "Tiered Approach to an Exposure Measurement and Assessment of Nanoscale Aerosols Release from Engineered Nanomaterial in Workplace Operations". This provides practitioners in industry and authorities who use nanomaterials with a tool for measuring the possible exposure caused by airborne nanoparticles in the workplace and that outlines how the risk assessment can be carried out in order to provide the maximum safety at the workplace. The result is a tiered approach aimed at the simple and widespread application of the methods in small and medium-sized companies in all industry sectors.
